The Scottish Society of Acute Pain Services (SSAPS) is a multidisciplinary group committed to promoting discussion and dissemination of good practice in Acute Pain Medicine throughout Scotland.
To this end, the Steering Committee organises educational meetings and communicates by Newsletter and e-mail to all interested parties.
The Steering Committee comprises representatives from across Scotland with representation from all Health Boards, Teaching and District General Hospitals and medical and nursing professionals. Membership of the Steering Group is voluntary and self-selected at present.
SSAPS has recently donated £800 raised from meeting attendance to the Lifebox Foundation.This is a charitable organisation that aims to improve peri-operative safety in 3rd world countries by supplying pulse oximetry machines for use in operating theatres and recovery areas.
